Downton Abbey Season 4
Overview
Mary is grieving. After her husband's death, the season follows her search for a new purpose — and the family's adaptation to a changing world in the early 1920s. Dramatic, emotional, and compelling, it watches Mary rebuild herself while Downton rebuilds around her. It ends with Mary finding new love, and with the family continuing to adapt to times that won't wait for anyone. Grief, in this season, isn't a single episode — it's the whole architecture of the year. Mary's search for purpose becomes the season's spine: grief doesn't end, but a life can still be rebuilt around it, one choice at a time.
