Downton Abbey Season 1
Overview
1912, Downton Abbey, a fictional Yorkshire country estate — and the Titanic just sank, taking the heir with it. The season follows the Crawley family, the estate's aristocratic owners, and their servants, as they scramble to find a new heir and hold their world together. Lavish, beautifully produced, and deeply compelling, it's a period drama about a house, a family, and a way of life that already knows it's living on borrowed time. The Titanic's sinking is more than an opening incident: it throws the estate's future into question and forces a family that believed itself permanent to confront its own fragility.
