Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 1
Overview
The 99th Precinct in Brooklyn runs on a simple conflict: Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), a talented, immature, goofy detective who solves crimes on instinct, versus Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), the stern, deadpan, brilliant new captain — the precinct's first openly gay commanding officer — who demands professionalism and order. Around them, the ensemble clicks into place: Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), the gentle giant terrified of leaving his twin daughters fatherless; Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), tough, intimidating, and unreadable; Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), competitive, ambitious, nerdy, and desperate to impress Holt; Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), loyal, quirky, food-obsessed, and nursing a crush on Rosa; and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti), the narcissistic, eccentric civilian administrator obsessed with social media. Jake and Amy start as rivals for Holt's approval, and the will-they-won't-they writes itself. The finale strands Jake and Holt in witness protection — a cliffhanger that sets up everything after.
