The Bear Season 3
Overview
The Bear is open, successful, earning rave reviews and a dedicated following — and success, it turns out, brings its own problems. Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) is still wrestling with his demons: the trauma of his brother's suicide, the pressure of running a top-tier restaurant, and the memory of being locked in the walk-in cooler on opening night. He's with Claire (Molly Gordon) but afraid of intimacy, unable to let her in. The season's flashback episode, 'Fishes' — a chaotic Berzatto family Christmas dinner with Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, and John Mulaney — shows where the dysfunction started and what led to Michael's suicide, and it might be one of the most intense episodes of television ever made. Richie, transformed, takes pride as front-of-house manager for the first time; Sydney grows as a chef while wrestling with her relationship with Carmy and her own ambitions; Marcus's pastries become the menu's highlight. It ends with a Michelin star — triumph for the team, and a reminder for Carmy that personal healing still has a long way to go.
