Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 4
Overview
It starts in Florida, weirdly. Jake and Holt are buried in witness protection as "Greg" and "Larry," working at a go-kart fun zone, and their miserable exile might be the funniest stretch the show ever did — the neighbor ladies, the cargo shorts, Holt trying to have fun on purpose. Once the Figgis threat is dealt with and everyone's back in Brooklyn, season four starts experimenting. The precinct gets dumped onto the night shift for a long run of episodes, which turns the whole bullpen feral and sleep-deprived. Pimento resurfaces from hiding overseas, Rosa tests out an actual relationship, and there's even a crossover detour with the New Girl loft gang. The season's standout, though, is "Moo Moo," where Terry gets stopped by a fellow cop while searching his own street for his kid's lost toy — a half-hour people still bring up when they talk about what network comedy could do. The back half sharpens into a dirty-cop storyline: Lieutenant Hawkins, a decorated commander with a side business, sets Jake and Rosa up to take a fall, and the season ends on a courtroom verdict that genuinely stings. Loose, silly, and sneakily ambitious.
