The White Lotus Season 3
Overview
Thailand this time — a wellness resort in Koh Samui where everyone's smiling and nobody's okay. The Ratliff family rolls in rich and loud, with dad Timothy (Jason Isaacs) quietly learning over the phone that his business empire is a crime scene and his life back home is over; watching him smile through breakfast while the walls close in is the season's dark engine. Parker Posey steals half the show as his blissfully medicated wife Victoria. Elsewhere, three old friends — a TV star, a country-club wife and the one whose life didn't turn out as glossy — spend a week politely tearing each other apart, and Walton Goggins brings a genuine sadness as Rick, a man nursing an old grudge with sweet, doomed Chelsea in tow. Season 1's Belinda is back too, which gives the season a welcome thread to the past. Mike White aims this one at spirituality, death and the stories people tell themselves to avoid both, and it's slower and moodier than the Italy season (some viewers bounced off the pace, honestly). But the finale is huge, tragic and weirdly moving, and the monkey business pays off. You'll know what that means when you see it.
