Overview

Shadow and Bone Season 1 is the first season of Netflix's fantasy series, based on the Grishaverse novels by Leigh Bardugo. The first season combines the storylines of the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. It follows Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), a young, orphaned mapmaker who discovers that she is a Sun Summoner, a Grisha (magic user) with the power to control light. She is the only one who can destroy the Shadow Fold, a dark, terrifying wasteland that divides the country of Ravka. The first season ends with Alina embracing her power and the Crows setting off on a new mission.
