Vikings Season 2
Overview
Ragnar Lothbrok has his earldom, his ships and a fast-growing legend — and enemies stacking up on every shore. Season two opens in the middle of a blood feud and never really lets up: Jarl Borg wants Ragnar's land, King Horik wants glory in England, and Ragnar's own brother Rollo makes a choice early on that takes the whole season to come back from. When the raids reach Wessex, Ragnar meets his smartest opponent yet in King Ecbert (Linus Roache), a ruler who studies the Northmen instead of just fighting them, and the two circle each other like chess players who genuinely enjoy the game. Travis Fimmel smolders, but the season belongs just as much to Katheryn Winnick's Lagertha, who walks out of a rotten marriage and returns holding power of her own. Athelstan, caught between the Christian god and the Norse ones, starts to crack, and Floki's loyalty begins curdling into something more dangerous. The battles are bigger, the politics sharper, and by the finale Ragnar is playing a longer, colder game than anyone around him realizes.
