Vikings Season 3
Overview
Paris. That's the season in one word — the richest prize in the known world, walled, river-locked and heavily defended, and Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) wants it. He sails a hundred ships up the Seine for the most ambitious stretch the show ever shot: a huge two-part assault with siege towers, fire ships and a plan only Ragnar fully understands. But the fighting is only half the story. Back in Kattegat, Lagertha loses her earldom to a smiling usurper and has to decide what she's willing to do about it. In Wessex, King Ecbert makes a move against the Norse farming settlement that proves you should never trust the man while he's smiling. The emotional gut-punch belongs to Athelstan and Floki, whose jealous faith finally snaps — what Floki does changes Ragnar permanently, and Fimmel plays the grief like a man being haunted in real time. Rollo, left behind in Frankia, is offered land, a title and a princess (Morgane Polanski) if he'll defend Paris against his own people, and the Rollo who weighs that offer is not the brute from season one. Bigger, sadder, more confident — Vikings at its peak.
