Vikings Season 5
Overview
Ragnar is gone, and season 5 is about the mess he left behind. His sons can't agree on what his legacy is supposed to be, so the show splits into several camps. Ivar the Boneless grabs Kattegat and turns it into a fortress ruled by fear, while Lagertha, Bjorn, and Ubbe are pushed into exile and eventually into an uneasy alliance with the Saxons. Bjorn takes his longships to the Mediterranean, Floki gives up on the world entirely and sails off to find the gods in Iceland, and a warrior bishop named Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) arrives as the kind of enemy the Vikings haven't faced before — devout, clever, and weirdly drawn to them. Even Rollo shows up again, with an offer and a secret. Honestly, the show changes a lot without Travis Fimmel, and not every storyline lands. But the civil war between the brothers gives it real momentum, and Alexander Ludwig and Alex Høgh Andersen carry far more weight than you'd expect. It's bloodier, stranger, and more sprawling than the early seasons — for better and worse.
