Overview
Start with the cast and you basically have the whole pitch: Dwayne Johnson as an FBI profiler, Ryan Reynolds as a wisecracking con man, Gal Gadot as the art thief they are both chasing. John Hartley profiles criminals for a living. Nolan Booth steals priceless art for a living. And when Hartley gets forced into an uneasy partnership with Booth to catch the thief known as 'The Bishop', the movie becomes a globe-trotting chase where nobody trusts anybody and everybody is working an angle. That is the fun of it. The plot is really just an excuse to drop three enormous movie stars into exotic locations and let them bounce off each other: Hartley plays it straight and frustrated, Gadot stays a step ahead of both of them, and Reynolds does what Reynolds does, talking at maximum speed until even the heists feel like stand-up. Is it deep? Not remotely, and it never pretends to be. Underneath the banter there is a light thread about friendship, betrayal and learning to actually rely on a partner, but mostly this is a big, glossy, deliberately silly night-in movie — the kind you put on when you want action, jokes and star power without having to think too hard.
