The Last of Us Season 1
Overview
The world ended in 2003, when the Cordyceps fungus turned humans into the Infected — and twenty years later, in 2023, Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) is still living in the wreckage. A hardened survivor who lost his teenage daughter Sarah in the outbreak's first chaos, Joel now smuggles in Boston's military-controlled quarantine zone, where citizens are oppressed and resources are scarce. Then the Fireflies, a resistance movement fighting the military government, hire him for one job: smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of the city. Ellie is immune to Cordyceps, and the Fireflies believe her blood holds the key to a cure. The journey to a Firefly lab in Salt Lake City crosses ruined cities, abandoned suburbs, and dangerous wilderness, meeting survivors friendly and hostile — and the Infected in all their forms: Runners, freshly turned; Stalkers, hiding in shadows; Clickers, blind, heads covered in fungal growth, hunting by sound alone. At its core, one question: is a single life worth sacrificing for the many?
