Overview
Game of Thrones Season 4 continues the story of the aftermath of the Red Wedding, focusing on the conflict between the Lannisters and the remaining Starks. The season features the trial of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), who is accused of murdering his nephew King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) at his wedding feast. Despite his claims of innocence, Tyrion is found guilty and sentenced to death. He escapes after killing his father, Tywin (Charles Dance), and his former lover, Shae (Sibel Kekilli). Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) conquers the cities of Slaver's Bay and establishes herself as a ruler, but struggles to maintain order. At the Wall, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) leads the defense against the wildling army and kills the traitorous Karl Tanner. Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) reaches the Three-Eyed Raven. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) sails to Braavos. The season ends with Tyrion fleeing Westeros, Arya arriving in Braavos, and Bran reaching the Three-Eyed Raven. Game of Thrones Season 4 is widely considered one of the best seasons of the series.
