Game of Thrones Season 3
Overview
Game of Thrones Season 3 continues the story of the War of the Five Kings. The season is famous for the "Red Wedding," one of the most shocking and brutal moments in television history. Robb Stark (Richard Madden) and his mother, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), are murdered at a wedding by the Freys and the Boltons, who betray them. The massacre also kills Robb's pregnant wife, Talisa (Oona Chaplin). The third season also follows Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) as she conquers the cities of Slaver's Bay — Astapor, Yunkai, and Meereen — freeing the slaves and building an army of Unsullied. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) goes undercover with the wildlings, led by Mance Rayder (Ciarán Hinds), and falls in love with the wildling warrior Ygritte (Rose Leslie). Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) loses his hand and begins his redemption arc. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) travels with the Hound (Rory McCann). The season ends with Daenerys becoming the "Mother of Dragons," a powerful leader, and the Boltons becoming the new rulers of the North.
