Overview

Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) is selfish, rude, and unethical — and she just woke up in 'The Good Place,' a utopian afterlife for good people. She knows she's there by mistake, and the season follows her attempt to hide her past and become a better person before anyone notices. Hilarious, clever, and thought-provoking, it's famous for its twist ending: they aren't in the Good Place at all. They're in the Bad Place — and the whole season was the trap. The comedy works because the premise is taken seriously: what does it actually mean to be good, and who gets to decide? Eleanor's attempts to fake it become, slowly, attempts to mean it.
