Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Overview
In 1969, during the space race, Indiana Jones is a tired, lonely, disillusioned old man about to retire from teaching, estranged from his wife — until his goddaughter steals a device that can find fissures in time. Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), daughter of Indy's old friend Basil, has stolen the Antikythera, an ancient Greek mechanism, and is being chased by Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen), a former Nazi now working for NASA who wants to use the Dial to go back in time and kill Hitler, so he can take over the Nazi party. Indy (Harrison Ford) joins Helena on a globe-trotting adventure to Morocco, Greece, and Sicily, with a de-aged Ford in a flashback sequence set during World War II. It ends with Indy choosing to stay in the present, rather than change the past — an emotional conclusion to a franchise about a man who spent his life chasing history, finally learning to live in his own time.
