Overview

The final season follows the plan to reform the afterlife system — the project the whole show has been building toward. The experiment was always the show's big idea — that people can get better if the system gives them a real chance — and the final season tests whether that idea can scale to the whole afterlife. Hilarious, clever and deeply emotional, it turns the gang's experiment into a question about the system itself: who deserves a second chance, and who gets to decide? The finale, "Whenever You're Ready," is a beautiful, heartbreaking and hopeful ending — a conclusion that stays true to a comedy that was always, underneath the jokes, about trying to be good.
