Peaky Blinders Season 4
Overview
The Mafia comes to Birmingham in season four, and for once, the Shelbys are the ones who should be afraid. Luca Changretta — Adrien Brody, all soft voice and dead eyes — sails in from New York to avenge his father, and his message is simple: every Shelby, one by one. Scattered and barely speaking after the disaster of season three, the family has no choice but to crawl back to the streets that made them and stand together or die separately. The season wastes no time proving the threat is real, and the losses come early and hard. Tommy brings in Aberama Gold, Aidan Gillen's Romany hitman with his own code, and the alliance is as tense as it is necessary. Cillian Murphy stays magnetic as a Tommy who's colder and more calculating than ever, Helen McCrory's Polly emerges from her own darkness swinging, and Tom Hardy's Alfie Solomons pops up to steal scenes and make deals nobody fully understands. It's the most straightforwardly propulsive season the show ever made — a vendetta story, told at full sprint — and it's an absolute blast.
