Overview
Peaky Blinders Season 5 continues the story of the Shelby family. The season is set in 1929, during the Wall Street crash. Tommy (Cillian Murphy) is now a Member of Parliament, and he is trying to legitimize his business. He is opposed by a new villain, Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), a fascist leader who is rising to power. Tommy becomes an informant for the British government, trying to bring down Mosley. The fifth season is a psychological thriller, exploring Tommy's mental state. He is haunted by the ghost of his dead daughter, and he is struggling with suicidal thoughts. The season ends with Tommy having a mental breakdown, pointing a gun at his own head. Peaky Blinders Season 5 is the most introspective and artistic season of the series.
