Abbott Elementary Season 4
Overview
Janine and Gregory are finally together, and season four's smartest move is refusing to make a big deal of it — they're just a couple now, figuring out workloads and each other's weird little habits between classes. The real chaos at Abbott this year comes from next door, where a fancy golf course is going up and the school keeps receiving suspiciously generous donations that Gregory (Tyler James Williams) doesn't trust for a second. Quinta Brunson's Janine is still the beating heart of the place, but this might be Janelle James's best season as Ava — the Halloween episode alone, with the staff going all-in on costumes, is an instant classic. Barbara and Melissa keep anchoring the show's warmer side, there's a crossover with the It's Always Sunny gang that has no business working and absolutely does, and Mr. Johnson remains undefeated in the background of every scene he drifts through. Sure, it's comfort TV. But comfort TV written this sharply is much rarer than it looks.
