Cold Pursuit
Overview
Nels Coxman is a quiet snowplow driver in the Colorado ski town of Kehoe, so respected that the town has just named him Citizen of the Year, when his son Kyle dies of what looks like a heroin overdose. Nels refuses to believe it, and when his son's battered co-worker tells him the truth, that Kyle was murdered by a Denver drug cartel, Nels picks up a sawn-off rifle and starts working his way up the chain. He kills the dealers one by one, Speedo, Limbo and Santa among them, wrapping their bodies in chicken wire and dumping them over a waterfall, using tricks he learned from a crime novel. His wife Grace, broken by grief, leaves him, and Nels keeps climbing towards Trevor Calcote, the flamboyant drug lord known as Viking, who ordered his son's death. But Viking's men keep disappearing, and Viking blames his old rival White Bull, a Native American crime boss, sparking a gang war neither side understands. As the bodies pile up and two local detectives close in, Nels turns to his brother Brock, a former mob enforcer known as Wingman, who tells him that killing Viking will need a professional hitman. The plan goes wrong when Viking kidnaps Nels and his own young son, Ryan, and the two gangs converge for a final shootout in the snow. Viking dies, White Bull gets his revenge for his own murdered son, and Nels drives away in his snowplow with White Bull riding beside him, two grieving fathers who have settled their scores.
