Overview

The final season focuses on the Tijuana Cartel and the Juárez Cartel, and the violent war between them. The war is about control — of territory, of routes, of the trade itself — and it grinds on whether anyone is winning or not. The agents' struggle is the season's other story: law enforcement chasing a war that keeps moving faster than they can. Tense, violent and gripping, it follows the cartels' fight for control, while the DEA agents trying to stop them struggle to keep up. The season ends with the drug war continuing, and the agents still chasing a trade that refuses to end. A fitting close for a series that never pretended the war on drugs had a clean ending.
