Billions Season 5
Overview
Bobby Axelrod has beaten prosecutors, rivals, and short sellers, but season five hands him something new: a billionaire who wants to be liked. Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) shows up preaching social impact and old-fashioned decency, and it drives Axe up the wall, because Prince's fortune is every bit as big and the halo makes him nearly untouchable. Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti remain the main event — Giamatti's Chuck, freshly divorced and busy reinventing himself as a man of principle, keeps discovering that principle gets expensive, especially with his father's health failing. Asia Kate Dillon's Taylor, caught between the camps as always, quietly steals half the scenes they're in. The season also pushes Wendy (Maggie Siff) into genuinely messy territory, her loyalties split between the firm, her ex-husband, and Axe himself. One warning: COVID split the run in two, so the first seven episodes aired in 2020 and the rest arrived over a year later, which gives the back half a slightly different energy. Honestly, it barely matters. Watching two monsters politely circle a third is still some of the most fun you'll have on TV.
