Billions Season 2
Overview
Chuck Rhoades won the battle in season one and immediately started losing the war. The Attorney General's office has sent an investigator to dig through his conduct, so Chuck spends most of the season fighting for his career while still obsessively hunting Bobby Axelrod — who, having survived round one, is colder and more surgical about revenge than ever. The genius move this year is Taylor Mason: a brilliant, gender-nonconforming intern played by Asia Kate Dillon who walks into Axe Capital and promptly starts out-thinking everyone in the building. Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis remain perfectly matched — two men absolutely convinced the other one is the disease in American life, and both of them about half right. Wendy, caught between husband and boss as ever, starts quietly asking herself what her loyalty is actually worth. Season two is where Billions settles into its long game: fewer knockout punches, more slow squeezes, every victory quietly poisoning the winner. The dialogue still crackles, and by the finale both men have spent so much of themselves that winning and losing have started to look suspiciously alike.
