Billions Season 4
Overview
Chuck Rhoades and Bobby Axelrod spent three seasons trying to destroy each other. Season four locks them in a room together and points them at everyone else. Chuck has been thrown out of the US Attorney's office and wants his power back — a run at attorney general will do nicely — while Axe needs political cover as his feud with Taylor Mason turns vicious. Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon) walked out of Axe Capital and launched a rival fund bankrolled by Russian oligarch Grigor Andolov (John Malkovich, looming pleasantly over everything), so now it's mentor versus protégé with real money on the table. Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis clearly relish playing allies who trust each other about as far as either would trust a wiretap, and Wendy (Maggie Siff), caught professionally and personally between the two camps, gets the season's most human storyline. Everybody is cutting deals with somebody they despise, which is basically this show's love language. It's the most purely fun run of Billions: double-crosses stacked on double-crosses, capped by a finale that rearranges the whole board.
