Overview

Humanity lives in a giant underground silo, 144 stories deep — a self-contained world with farms, a power plant, and a judicial system, and no memory of why it was built. The only view outside is a screen on the top floor, showing a desolate, toxic wasteland. Anyone who asks to 'go outside' is sent out to clean the sensors — and dies within minutes. Based on Hugh Howey's Wool novels, the season follows Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), an engineer from the mechanical department, called upstairs to investigate a sheriff's death — and finding a conspiracy: the silo's founders are hiding a terrible secret about the outside world. It ends with Juliette going outside herself, and discovering the world is not as toxic as she was told.
