Outlander Season 6
Overview
Trouble moves onto Fraser's Ridge this season wearing a familiar face. Tom Christie, a stern fellow prisoner from Jamie's Ardsmuir days, arrives with his son Allan and daughter Malva to settle on the Ridge — and the Christies bring old grudges, strict religion and a quiet menace with them. Malva worms her way into Claire's surgery as an apprentice, fascinated by medicine and by the Frasers themselves, and where Malva goes, whispers tend to follow. The season is shorter than usual, just eight episodes, and it uses the tightness well: the Revolution is no longer a distant worry but armed men at the door, with Richard Brown's so-called Committee of Safety hunting for any excuse to move against Jamie. Claire, still carrying what Lionel Brown did to her, starts leaning on her own ether in a way that ought to worry you. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan do heavy, bruised work here, and Lauren Lyle gets standout moments as Marsali steps up. It's a darker, more claustrophobic run — less romantic sweep, more slow-burning dread about what the Ridge is turning into.
