Only Murders in the Building Season 2
Overview
Season 2 picks up minutes after the first one ends, with Mabel standing over another body — this time Bunny, the Arconia's terrifying board president, dead in Mabel's apartment. Suddenly our three podcasters aren't just investigating a murder, they're the prime suspects in one, and a rival podcast is happily painting them as killers. The fun this season is watching the trio try to clear their names while the building itself keeps coughing up secrets: a hidden elevator, a valuable painting with a very personal connection to Charles, and neighbours who all seem to be hiding something. Selena Gomez gets more to play with as Mabel's past comes into focus, and new faces like Amy Schumer (playing a gloriously self-absorbed version of herself) and Cara Delevingne's mysterious artist keep things fresh. Underneath the jokes, though, there's a real thread about loneliness and the families people build in a place like the Arconia. The mystery is fair-play, too — the clues are there if you're paying attention. It's a bigger, slightly messier season than the first, but the chemistry between Steve Martin, Martin Short and Gomez remains the best reason to watch anything on TV.
