House M.D. Season 2
Overview
House's past walks back into Princeton-Plainsboro this season carrying a law degree. Stacy Warner (Sela Ward) — the woman who signed off on the surgery that cost House the muscle in his leg and, in his telling, his whole life — is now the hospital's attorney, and when her husband Mark falls ill, he lands on House's table. You can guess how professionally that goes. Hugh Laurie builds a whole season out of a man wanting something he's furious at himself for wanting. The team, meanwhile, hits its best rhythm: Foreman's ambition starts grating on everyone, Cameron takes a frightening HIV scare after an exposure at work, and Chase mostly tries to survive the week. Lisa Edelstein's Cuddy and Robert Sean Leonard's Wilson remain the only two people who can manage House at all, and even they barely manage it. The cases stay addictive — a death-row inmate, a faith healer, a woman who hasn't slept in ten days — and the season peaks with Foreman's two-parter, where the disease hunter becomes the patient. Then the finale shoots House and strands you inside his hallucinating head. Dark, funny, and the run where a good show became a great one.
