The Walking Dead Season 3

Overview

The Walking Dead Season 3 continues the story of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group of survivors. The season introduces a new setting: a prison, which the group makes their new home. They clear it of walkers and begin to fortify it. They also face a new villain: The Governor (David Morrissey), the charismatic, ruthless leader of the nearby town of Woodbury. The Governor is a charming, manipulative, and sadistic man who keeps the severed heads of his enemies in aquariums. The season follows the conflict between the prison group and Woodbury. The group also welcomes new members: Michonne (Danai Gurira), a mysterious, sword-wielding woman; and Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green). The season ends with the group defeating the Governor, but losing many members in the process, including Andrea (Laurie Holden).
