The Office Season 6
Overview
Two enormous things happen this season: Jim and Pam get married, and Dunder Mifflin dies. The wedding comes first, a two-parter in Niagara Falls where the whole office dances down the aisle, Michael falls head over heels for Pam's mother, and the couple sneak off to get married on a boat at the falls before the ceremony — which might be the sweetest thing the show ever did. Baby Cece follows in "The Delivery," another two-parter, with Jim quietly panicking in the way only Jim can. Meanwhile the company bleeds money, goes bankrupt right around Christmas, and gets bought out by a printer company called Sabre, which sends in the unbearable Gabe (Zach Woods) and, gloriously, Kathy Bates as CEO Jo Bennett, all drawl and quiet threat. Michael (Steve Carell) spends the year dating Pam's mum, policing everyone's morale, and delivering an all-time performance in "Murder," where he distracts the office from the bankruptcy news with a Southern murder-mystery game. It's a season of endings dressed up as a sitcom: the old company is gone by the finale, and the show is quietly getting ready to say goodbye to more than that.
