Luther Season 1

Overview

John Luther (Idris Elba) is a brilliant, passionate, sometimes violent detective in London — haunted by his own demons and obsessed with catching a serial killer. The season plays that obsession as a dark, intense, gripping thriller: Luther's genius and his damage are the same thing, and every case pulls him closer to the line he swore not to cross. It ends with Luther shot — and surviving, because Luther always survives, even when survival looks like the harder option. The show's question is never whether Luther will catch the killer. It's what catching them will cost him. Luther's genius and his damage are inseparable.
