Overview
Lucifer Season 2 continues the story of Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the Devil who has abandoned Hell for Los Angeles, where he runs an exclusive nightclub called Lux and serves as a consultant to the LAPD. The season picks up after the explosive Season 1 finale, where Lucifer showed his devil face to his therapist, Dr. Linda Martin, and his mother has escaped from Hell. The second season introduces a major new character: Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer), who is actually Lucifer's mother, the Goddess of Creation, inhabiting the body of a murdered lawyer. She has escaped her prison in Hell and wants Lucifer to return with her to the Silver City to continue their war with God. Lucifer, however, is enjoying his life on Earth and has no intention of leaving. The season also deepens the relationship between Lucifer and Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), who is still unaware that he is the actual Devil. Their partnership becomes more personal as they investigate murders together, and Lucifer begins to develop genuine feelings for her, which terrifies him. The season explores the theme of family, as Lucifer must deal with his mother's manipulations, his brother Amenadiel's (D.B. Woodside) continued presence on Earth, and his complicated feelings about his father, God. The season also introduces new characters, including Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), a forensic scientist who becomes a beloved member of the team, and Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling), the new precinct leader who has a secret connection to Lucifer's past. The season ends with Charlotte being shot and killed, and Lucifer sending her soul back to the Silver City, finally making peace with his mother. Lucifer Season 2 is a fan-favorite season, balancing humor, heart, and supernatural drama.
