Overview

Tens of thousands of years in the future, the Galactic Empire has ruled for 12,000 years — and Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) has done the math on its fall. Based on Isaac Asimov's novels, the season follows the mathematician whose new science, 'psychohistory,' predicts the Empire will collapse in 500 years, bringing a 30,000-year dark age. His plan: shorten the darkness to 1,000 years with a Foundation — an encyclopedia of all human knowledge — on the remote planet Terminus. The Empire itself is a clone dynasty: three clones of Cleon I, Brother Dawn (the young clone), Brother Day (the prime clone), and Brother Dusk (the old clone). It ends with the Foundation surviving its first crisis — and Seldon's plan, impossibly, still alive.
