Overview
Bridgerton Season 1 is the first season of Netflix's period drama, based on the novel series by Julia Quinn. The season is set in the competitive world of Regency-era London's high society, during the "season," when debutantes are presented to the Queen in hopes of finding a wealthy husband. The first season focuses on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, and her relationship with Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), the Duke of Hastings. The series is a lavish, romantic, and steamy period drama. The season also introduces the mysterious gossip columnist, Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), who narrates the series. The first season ends with Daphne and Simon married, and the identity of Lady Whistledown still a secret.
