The Umbrella Academy Season 3
Overview
Bad news: the Umbrellas saved the world again, and once again they've broken it. The siblings return from the 1960s to find their home occupied by the Sparrow Academy — a slicker, colder set of superpowered siblings raised by a Reginald Hargreeves who never adopted them. Oh, and there's a glowing ball of energy called a Kugelblitz quietly eating the universe, one piece of the timeline at a time. Season three leans hard into the family stuff, which is where this show has always been strongest anyway: Viktor's story is handled with real tenderness, Klaus bonds with Reginald in the strangest way possible, and Five remains a furious old man trapped in a school uniform. The Hotel Oblivion setting gives everything a faded, end-of-days holiday vibe, and the Sparrows — especially the raven-summoning Fei and the menacing floating cube, Christopher — are fun new toys. Does the plot always make sense? Not entirely. Does it matter when the cast chemistry is this good and the soundtrack is this well chosen? Honestly, not really. This is the show at its most chaotic and most heartfelt.
