The Incredibles is a 2004 computer-animated superhero film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Brad Bird. The film is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s-inspired world where superheroes have been forced into hiding due to lawsuits and public pressure. The film follows Bob Parr (voiced by Craig T. Nelson), formerly known as Mr. Incredible, who is living a mundane life as an insurance adjuster. He is married to Helen (voiced by Holly Hunter), formerly known as Elastigirl, and they have three children: Violet (voiced by Sarah Vowell), who can turn invisible and create force fields; Dash (voiced by Spencer Fox), who has super speed; and Jack-Jack, who has yet to develop his powers. Bob is lured out of retirement by a mysterious woman, Mirage, who offers him a secret mission. He discovers that the mission is a trap, set by a former fan named Syndrome (voiced by Jason Lee), who is a genius inventor and a bitter villain. The film is a thrilling, funny, and stylish superhero adventure. It explores themes of family, identity, and the struggle to live a meaningful life. The Incredibles was a massive critical and commercial success, earning over $631 million worldwide. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
