The Rings of Power Season 1
Overview
Thousands of years before Frodo ever left the Shire, Middle-earth was already at war for its soul. The Rings of Power, created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay for Amazon Prime Video and based on the appendices of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, is set in the Second Age — an age of elves, dwarves, and rising shadow. Its first season follows an ensemble across multiple storylines: Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), hunting Sauron across the world; Elrond (Robert Aramayo), a young elf finding his place; Durin IV (Owain Arthur), a dwarf prince; and the harfoots, the wandering ancestors of the hobbits. Epic fantasy on the grandest scale, it returns to the world Tolkien built — long before the Fellowship, when the rings themselves were still being forged.
