Overview

Cable news, from the inside. Created by Aaron Sorkin, the season follows the staff of the fictional network ACN: Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), a brilliant but arrogant anchor, and his new executive producer, MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer). Fast-paced, witty, and idealistic, it's a drama about what news could be — and what it costs to try. It ends with the staff successfully covering a major breaking news story, and with the show's argument made: good news is a choice, not an accident. The idealism is the point and the problem: Will and MacKenzie believe news can be better, and the season tests that belief every single episode.
