The Handmaid's Tale Season 2
Overview
Gilead gets bigger this season — and more horrifying. The season expands the world beyond Offred's (Elisabeth Moss) immediate view, showing more of the regime's cruelty and the people living under it. Offred is pregnant and trying to escape, carrying a child that Gilead considers its property. Dark, terrifying, and powerful, it ends with a choice that defines her: Offred sends her baby out of Gilead — and stays behind. The season's horror isn't in single moments; it's in the system, patient and total, closing in from every side. Offred's pregnancy makes every choice heavier: two lives, one regime, and no safe move.
