Overview
He mops the floors at MIT, and he can solve math problems the professors can't. Will Hunting, played by Matt Damon, is a 20-year-old janitor in Boston — self-taught genius, quick temper, and a past full of abuse and abandonment he refuses to talk about. When he solves a problem Professor Gerald Lambeau left on a blackboard, Lambeau cuts a deal to keep Will out of jail for assault: study math with him, and see a therapist. Will drives every therapist away until Lambeau calls his old college roommate Sean Maguire, played by Robin Williams, a community college psychology professor from South Boston who actually gets Will. Meanwhile Will falls for Skylar, a medical student planning to move to California. Will he be brave enough to follow her? Warm, funny, and quietly devastating.
