Ozark Season 4
Overview
Four seasons of cartel deals, lies and barely surviving have led the Byrdes here: to the endgame. Season 4, the final chapter, splits into two parts and wastes neither. In the first, Marty and Wendy claw for the one thing they have wanted since the day they arrived in the Ozarks — a way out, an arrangement that frees them from the cartel for good. In the second, everything they have dodged comes due at once, as the final conflict with their enemies closes in from every side. What makes this season hurt is watching who the Byrdes have become along the way. The frightened family from the beginning is gone; in their place are two people who survive everything — and damn everyone around them in the process. Nobody embodies the cost better than Ruth Langmore, Julia Garner's furious, heartbreaking fan favorite, whose story ends the way this show always promised somebody's would: at the cartel's hands. The finale is tragic and genuinely shocking, and it lands on the bleakest possible note — the Byrdes walk away alive, but they have become the monsters they spent four seasons running from. A brilliant, brutal goodbye to one of the great crime dramas.
