Overview

The aftermath of Jack's death is the whole season. The adult Pearson children grieve in their own ways, while flashbacks show the family in the years leading up to the fire — the small moments that now carry unbearable weight. New faces join the story, including Deja (Lyric Ross), a foster child taken in by Randall and his wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson). As emotional and heartbreaking as the first season, it ends with the family finally learning the truth about Jack's death — and with grief, at last, given a shape they can hold. The grief doesn't arrive all at once — it comes in waves, in flashbacks, in the rooms Jack used to walk through, and the season lets each of the children meet it differently.
