Locke & Key Season 3
Overview
The Lockes knew the quiet wasn't going to last. The final season is the shortest — eight episodes — and it wastes none of them, throwing the family straight at Frederick Gideon (Kevin Durand), a Revolutionary War captain who has clawed his way back as an echo with grand plans for the keys and the demon realm behind the Black Door. Durand is clearly having a wonderful time, and his old-world manners make him scarier than any of the shrieking demons from earlier seasons. There's plenty to juggle besides him: Tyler has left Matheson to build a normal life in Montana and has to decide what he actually wants to remember, Nina (Darby Stanchfield) is finally pulled fully into the magic instead of being shielded from it, and a new key that opens doors into the past hands Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) a temptation the show treats with real sadness. A family wedding at Keyhouse gives everyone one last excuse to be happy inside that house. Does it tie up every thread perfectly? Not quite — a storyline or two gets cut shorter than you'd like. But as a goodbye to a sweet, spooky little show, it lands.
