Overview
Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) kills monsters for a living, and the world repays him by treating him like one. He's a Witcher - mutated, solitary, and engineered for exactly one job: hunting the things that go bump in the night across a medieval Continent thick with magic, war and political rot. He takes his contracts and tries very hard to stay out of everybody else's destiny. It doesn't work. Two other lives are moving toward his: Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), a sorceress who was born with a hunchback and sold by her own father before clawing her way to power, and Ciri (Freya Allan), the young princess of the fallen kingdom of Cintra, who carries magical abilities she doesn't understand. Geralt and Ciri are bound by the Law of Surprise - a Witcher tradition that lets a man claim, as payment, something he already has but doesn't know about. Here's the thing to know going in: the season jumps between three timelines without telling you, and part of the fun is the moment they finally snap together - right around when Geralt and Ciri meet at last. Dark, bloody and dense with destiny, it's fantasy that trusts you to keep up.
