Overview

Roz (Lupita Nyong'o) is a helper robot, programmed to assist humans — and she washes ashore on a deserted island with no humans on it at all. Stranded among animals, she has to learn to survive in a world she was never built for, and along the way she becomes a mother to Brightbill (Kit Connor), a young gosling, with Fink (Pedro Pascal), a fox, in her unlikely new family. Based on Peter Brown's book series and produced by DreamWorks Animation, it's a heartwarming, beautifully animated and emotional story about family, belonging and the relationship between technology and nature. Roz was made to follow instructions; on the island, she has to learn something no program taught her — how to care for someone, and how to belong.
