Overview
Ted Lasso Season 1 is the first season of Apple TV+'s sports comedy-drama. The series stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, an American college football coach who is hired to coach an English Premier League soccer team, AFC Richmond, despite having no experience with soccer. The series is a heartwarming, optimistic, and genuinely funny comedy. Ted is a relentlessly positive, kind, and folksy man from Kansas. He is hired by the team's owner, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), who wants him to fail as revenge on her ex-husband. Instead, Ted wins over the players, the staff, and the fans with his folksy wisdom, his belief in others, and his "biscuits with the boss" tradition. The first season ends with the team being relegated, but Ted decides to stay.
