Stranger Things Season 2
Overview
Stranger Things Season 2 is set in 1984, one year after the events of the first season. Halloween has arrived in Hawkins, and everything seems to be returning to normal — but Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is still connected to the Upside Down. He has terrifying visions of a massive, shadowy, spider-like entity that the kids call the "Mind Flayer." The Mind Flayer is trying to possess Will and use him as a spy to infiltrate the human world. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is living in hiding with Hopper (David Harbour) in a remote cabin in the woods, forbidden from using her powers or contacting her friends. She is lonely and restless. The season introduces new characters: Max (Sadie Sink), a skateboarding, video game-loving girl who joins the party, and her abusive stepbrother Billy (Dacre Montgomery), a charismatic, violent, and deeply troubled teenager. The season also introduces Bob Newby (Sean Astin), Joyce's sweet, nerdy new boyfriend. The second season is darker, scarier, and more emotional than the first. It ends with the group fighting the Mind Flayer, closing the gate to the Upside Down, and Eleven finally being accepted as a full member of the party.
