Poker Face Season 1

2023 • TV Series • 95,059 views

Overview

Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) is a casino worker with an extraordinary ability: she can tell when someone is lying. The season is a 'howcatchem' — an inverted detective story where the audience sees the crime first, then follows Charlie as she solves it. A throwback to Columbo and The Rockford Files, it runs on Lyonne's performance and the pleasure of watching a mystery solved backwards. It ends with Charlie still traveling the country, solving new mysteries — the road, and the lies, never ending. The inverted structure is the show's signature: knowing the crime first makes Charlie's gift — and her deductions — the whole pleasure.
