One Piece Season 2
Overview
One Piece Season 2 is the upcoming second season of Netflix's live-action fantasy adventure series, based on the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. The second season will adapt the next story arcs of the manga, continuing the East Blue Saga and beginning the journey into the Grand Line. The season picks up where Season 1 left off: the Straw Hat Pirates — Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) — have just entered the Grand Line, the most dangerous stretch of ocean in the world. The second season will cover the Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs, ending with the departure from Drum Island. The season introduces new characters who become beloved members of the Straw Hat crew: Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit and became a doctor, who is adorable and heartbreaking in equal measure. Chopper's backstory — rejected by his herd and by humans, taken in by a quack doctor who taught him medicine — is one of the most emotional in the series. The season also introduces Nico Robin, the archaeologist who will eventually join the crew, though in Season 2 she is still an antagonist working for Baroque Works. Other new characters include: Nefertari Vivi, the princess of Alabasta who is undercover as a Baroque Works agent; Ace, Luffy's older brother and a powerful pirate in his own right; Smoker, a Marine captain who becomes a recurring antagonist; and Wapol, the childish and greedy king of Drum Island. The season also introduces the Baroque Works organization, led by the mysterious Mr. 0 (Crocodile), one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. The action sequences are even more ambitious than Season 1, with devil fruit powers being showcased in spectacular fashion. The second season has been announced and is in production. The series is known for its colorful visuals, its faithful adaptation, and its charming cast, and Season 2 promises to bring more of what fans loved about the first season.
